Article 63 — Derogations for Specific Operators

1. Without prejudice to Article 2(4), high-risk AI systems referred to in Annex III that relate to products regulated by the Union harmonisation legislation listed in Annex I may be subject to the obligations applicable to providers of those products and the quality management system of those products, insofar as those obligations are at least equivalent to those established in this Regulation.

2. Operators of AI systems that have been notified under other Union legislation may fulfil the obligation to register in the EU database referred to in Article 71 by registering information about those AI systems in the relevant existing sectoral registers.

3. The Commission shall assess whether the derogations referred to in this Article remain appropriate in its reviews pursuant to Article 112.
