Article 64 — AI Office The AI Office is established within the Commission. The AI Office shall exercise its powers with regard to AI matters, including general-purpose AI models, in an independent manner. The AI Office shall develop Union expertise and capabilities in the field of AI, and shall contribute to the implementation of Union law on AI matters. The AI Office shall in particular: (a) monitor and supervise the development and use of general-purpose AI models, including by conducting evaluations, requesting information and issuing decisions; (b) facilitate cooperation and information exchange between competent authorities of the Member States; (c) carry out market surveillance and investigation activities; (d) coordinate enforcement activities against operators using AI systems in multiple Member States.
