Article 50 requires that AI systems designed for direct interaction with people must clearly inform users they are interacting with an AI. Providers of AI-generated synthetic content (audio, images, video, text) must ensure outputs are machine-readable marked as artificially generated. Emotion recognition and deepfake systems have specific disclosure requirements.
