Article 73 — Reporting of Serious Incidents 1. Providers of high-risk AI systems placed on the Union market shall report any serious incident to the market surveillance authorities of the Member States where that incident occurred. 2. The report shall be made immediately after the provider has established a causal link between the AI system and the serious incident or the reasonable likelihood of such a link and, in any event, not later than: (a) 2 working days of becoming aware of the serious incident, where the incident involves a risk for the health or safety of persons and is likely to lead to death or serious deterioration of a person's state of health; (b) 10 working days of becoming aware of the serious incident in all other cases; (c) 15 working days of becoming aware of the serious incident in the case of a serious incident referring to SME providers. 3. Providers of general-purpose AI models shall report any serious incidents to the AI Office.
