Article 80 — Union AI Testing Support Structures

1. The Commission shall designate one or more Union AI testing support structures to perform the following tasks:
(a) contribute to the uniform implementation of this Regulation;
(b) carry out technical or scientific work in support of the implementation of this Regulation;
(c) support market surveillance authorities in assessing the compliance of AI systems;
(d) contribute to the development and maintenance of Union expertise and capabilities in the testing and evaluation of AI systems.

2. Union AI testing support structures shall provide testing expertise, without prejudice to the tasks and powers of market surveillance authorities and notified bodies.
