Transparency Obligations for Providers of General-Purpose AI Models

Article 52 — Transparency Obligations for Providers of General-Purpose AI Models

1. Providers of general-purpose AI models shall draw up and keep up-to-date the technical documentation of the model to be provided, upon request, to the AI Office and to national competent authorities. The technical documentation shall contain at least the information set out in Annex XI.

2. Providers of general-purpose AI models shall provide, upon request, the technical documentation referred to in paragraph 1 to providers of AI systems who intend to integrate the general-purpose AI model into their AI system.

3. Providers of general-purpose AI models shall make publicly available a summary about the content used for training the general-purpose AI model, according to a template provided by the AI Office.

4. Providers of general-purpose AI models that have been trained predominantly on text shall make publicly available a sufficiently detailed summary of the content used for training in accordance with the template referred to in paragraph 3.
