Responsibilities along the AI Value Chain

Article 25 — Responsibilities along the AI Value Chain 1. Any distributor, importer, deployer or other third party shall be considered to be a provider of a high-risk AI system and shall be subject to the obligations of the provider pursuant to Article 16, in any of the following circumstances: (a) they place on the market or put into service a high-risk AI system under their name or trademark; (b) they modify the intended purpose of a high-risk AI system already placed on the market or put into service; (c) they make a substantial modification to the high-risk AI system. 2. Where a provider of a general-purpose AI model integrated into a high-risk AI system is not the provider of the high-risk AI system, the provider of the general-purpose AI model shall cooperate with the provider of the high-risk AI system and provide all the necessary information and technical access to enable the provider of the high-risk AI system to comply with its obligations under this Regulation. 3. Providers who integrate a component AI system into a product shall take adequate measures to identify themselves as providers of the product and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
